!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I pretty much stopped wearing my Tag. There were a couple reasons, but the main one was the fact the crown didn’t screw down properly any more. Well, earlier this year I figured I should have it taken care of so I brought it to the jewelry store. It had to back to Tag as a result, but it came back with a new crown and barrel, as the barrel was stripped. I know this as they sent the old parts back to me.
I got it back in March of this year, right around when I got my Day-Date, so I’d been wearing that. Today though, I chose the Tag. What’s on your wrist today oppo?

Sunburn, soon to be ATF and oil. I do want a new watch soon, but this summer has been mighty expensive!

Hey I don’t know how I missed your rolly before but that is a super nice timepiece! This is too.

Thanks! I had wanted one for a long time, was worried that 36mm would be too small, but I really like the size. I almost feel that my Tag at 42mm is over sized; I got it as a graduation present and wore it pretty much everyday from 2013 to 2018.

How many watches do you have? My wife bought me a beautiful Raymond Weil for our engagement and I haven’t bought another watch since.

Also a big fan of smaller watches. I’m constantly knocking it on stuff anyway.

Technically six, but I don’t really count the Timex and the Vostok is more of a curiosity .
From left to right:
vostok komandirskie
Breitling Aerospace E59056 from 1990, it was my Granddad’s
Rolex Day-Date from 1973, bought in 2020 as a 30th birthday present to myself
Rolex Datejust from 2005
Tag Heuer Formula 1, college graduation present from my parents
Timex Expedition , got it in 2003 or 2004 with some birthday money and was my first watch.
I’ve got them in this cheap display box as it was better than just having them in my desk drawer, which is what I was doing before.

Omega Seamaster 300M 2254, picked this up a few weeks ago after flipping my Planet Ocean for it. More comfortable with a lighter weight and a bit bolder appearance.

That’s a great graduation present! I honestly can’t remember what/if mine was... But then we were going through some other stuff at the time so it didn’t seem important.

I thought so too, I mean, I did specifically ask for it.

It is pretty thick? I remember I tried some Omega on years ago and was surprised how thick it was. This was back before I knew much about watches though.

Cool. One of my close friends doesn’t wear a watch, at all, ever. One day he admired my watch and I asked him about not wearing a watch. He proceeds to inform me about the insane game of watch oneup-manship that gets played in his industry. These fools are out there flexing watches on each other that cost $40-50k each because they have more money than they know what to do with.
So I asked, “Can’t you get something you like, that’s nice and not worry about what everyone else is doing and not participate in their silliness?” Apparently not, the only options are to not wear a watch or possibly bankrupt yourself trying to keep up with the Joneses.

The Planet Ocean is thick, 15.5mm vs this one at 12mm , between that and the heft/rigidity of the bracelet it was not always comfortable to me.

12mm isn’t too thick, think my DJ is 11mm or so.

That’s annoying; I don’t really understand that mentality. For me, a watch is something that supposed to be enjoyed by the wearer, not just to show off.

Agreed, i t’s some weird rich guy shit.

Yes, the Seamaster Pro are not too big and the dome curvature that continues on the bezel makes them look quite slim , they are a little heavy but it makes them feels quite sturdy and goes well with it’s look .

Wasn’t wearing this one today to be fair but i did these last few days, i am a bit ashamed to say that i even wore it inside of public buildings .

This is the watch in question. I love it dearly even though it’s like a finicky old British or Italian car and needs a lot of care and feeding. It’s kind of a perfect metaphor for marriage.
